הטיפוגרפיה במרחב הציבורי משקפת את אופיו הייחודי של מקום ושל תושביו. בשל כך, כנראה, מצאתי את עצמי נעצר מול שלטים שונים ומשונים ברחבי העיר והתחלתי לצלם טיפוגרפיה אורבנית שלכדה את עיניי.
החל מסמטאות ירושלים, רחובות קטנים בתל אביב ועד לקיבוצים. נתקלתי בשלטים שנמחקו עם הזמן ועוצבו מחדש בידי דיירי המקום, מה שהוליד מופעים טיפוגרפיים חובבניים אך מיוחדים. הדיסוננס בין החומר התעשייתי, שנעשה כבדרך אגב, לכתב היד – ריתק אותי.
המאגר גדל עד כדי שהחלטתי לפתוח את עמוד האינסטגרם @type.hebrew.urban – המתעד שלטים ומזמין את העוקבים לפרסם מופעים טיפוגרפיים שהם פוגשים ברחוב. כך נוצר מאגר טיפוגרפי-חברתי המשמר פניני עיצוב במרחב הציבורי.
التيبوغرافيا في الحيز العام تعكس الطبيعة الخاصة للمكان وسكانه. ولهذا، وجدت نفسي أتوقف عند لافتات مختلفة ومميزة في أنحاء المدينة وتصوير التيبوغرافيا الحضرية التي التقطتها عيني.
ابتداءً من أزقة القدس، الشوارع الضيقة في تل أبيب وحتى الكيبوتسات. صادفت لافتات محيَ محتواها بسبب مرور الوقت وأعيد تصميمها من جديد على يد سكان المكان، الأمر الذي خلق أشكالًا تيبوغرافية هاوية، ولكن مميزة. التنافر بين المادة الصناعية، المصنوعة ظاهريًا بشكل عرضي، وخط اليد- أسَرَني.
مخزون الصور كبرَ كثيرًا، ولذلك قررت أن أفتح على موقع إنستغرام صفحة @type.hebrew.urban – والتي توثق اللافتات وتدعو المتابعين لنشر أشكالًا تيبوغرافية يصادفونها في الشارع. نتج عن ذلك مخزون تيبوغرافي-اجتماعي يحفظ كنوزًا تصميمية في الحيز العام.
Typography in the public space reflects the unique character of a place and its inhabitants. That is why I am interested in the various and weird signs around the city, capturing the urban typography that caught my eye.
From the alleys of Jerusalem, small streets in Tel Aviv to the idyllic sidewalks of the Kibbutz, I came across signs that were erased over time and redesigned by the occupants of the place, sometimes spawning amateurish but special typographic performances.
The dissonance between the material and the manuscript fascinated me.
I have captured so many of these interesting pictures that I decided to open the Instagram page, @type.hebrew.urban - a page that documents signs and invites followers to post interesting typographic signs they encounter on the street. This created a typographic-centered social database that preserves the rare design gems in the public space.
