Tal Erez
A multidisciplinary creator, designer, curator, and design researcher. Focuses on the social and political contexts of the design profession and the relationship between physical and virtual spaces. A fellow at Het Niuewe Instituut in Rotterdam, where, in 2015, he curated the research exhibition Plastic, Promises of a Home-Made Future.
From 2016-2022, he served as chief curator of the Jerusalem Design Week, the largest public design event in Israel.
He has collaborated with companies and institutions, including the Tel Aviv Museum, Droog Design, EventArchitectuur, the Holon Design Museum, the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology, the Mekudeshet festival, the Z33 Contemporary Art and Design Center, and the Israeli Pavilion at the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale.
Tal has presented his works in numerous cultural institutions and museums, including the Vitra Design Museum, MAK Vienna, Salone del Mobile Milano, C-mine in Genk, Storefront NY, the Israel Museum, the Design Museum Holon, and others. He has also written articles for various magazines, including Frame, DAMN°, La Terrasse, and Vision.
He teaches design in the master’s degree program in industrial design at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem, and in the Department of Interior Building and Environment Design at Shenkar College of Engineering, Design, and Art. From 2015-2019, he was a member of the founding team and a co-supervisor of the “24/7” research unit at the Bezalel’s School of Architecture, which addressed the connection between leisure spaces and work spaces.
