Ilanit Konopny

An independent curator and art consultant. Member of the Edmond de Rothschild Center’s Steering Committee.

Curator of the Clore Arts & Design Gallery and the External Gallery at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design; Curator of the “Bezalel in the City” program; Head of the Bezalel MA Program in Policy and Theory of the Arts; Curator of the Bezalel Department of Photography’s Graduate Exhibition; and Co-Curator of the Bezalel Department of Photography Gallery, with David Adika, who heads the department.

Holds an MA in Policy and Theory of the Arts from Bezalel; and a BA in Sociology and Anthropology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem; she earned a BA cum laude in Photography from Hadassah Academic College, Jerusalem; she is a recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarship (2004–2005); and a Dean’s Award (2002).

Recipient of the Galia Yahav Writers’ Grant (2018). Her articles have been published in artists’ books and art magazines.

She curated the Mifal Hapayis Arts Incubator Program in collaboration with Indie Gallery (2021–2022), as well as solo and group exhibitions by local and international artists in galleries and museums in Israel, including the Edmond de Rothschild Center, Ticho House Museum – Israel Museum, Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, Indie Gallery, Artists’ Studios in Jerusalem (Talpiot and Teddy), the Jerusalem Artists House, and more.
She founded the Holocaust Memorial Day program at the Jerusalem Cinematheque and curated it for over a decade, in addition to other programs combining film, video art and panel discussions with women artists.

She is the executor of the art estate of Dana Darvish, in collaboration with the artist Rami Maymon.
