
Dr. Yarden Stern
An independent curator and postdoctoral fellow at the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace, Hebrew University of Jerusalem; teaches at the Faculty of the Arts, Tel Aviv University and the Department of Cultural Studies, Sapir College.
His dissertation project, “Bodies Without Borders: Queerly Performing Israeli Citizenship,” at the NYU Performance Studies Program, focuses on responses of queer artists in Israel/Palestine to the Israeli state’s ongoing occupation with borders.
His postdoctoral research deals with the Israeli family and how it is represented by contemporary Israeli artists, with an emphasis on the various roles within the family and how they offer a means to rethink the relationship between the family unit and the state.
Stern has curated exhibitions at Artport, Mazal Dagim Gallery, Art Cube Artists’ Studios, P8 Gallery, among others.
