Shlomit Breuer

Shlomit Breuer was born in 1962 in Bat Yam. In 1986 she completed her BA studies in Sociology and Anthropology at Tel Aviv University. Between 1987 and 2014, she worked at Gordon Gallery in Tel Aviv, serving as the acting director of the gallery and its auction house, manager of the gallery’s collection and its operations, and curator. In 2014, she was invited by Prof. Ya’acov Dorchin to establish a gallery at the renewing Basis School for Art & Culture and to serve as the institution’s chief curator. Since 2021, she has been working as an independent curator. Breuer is profoundly acquainted with both the local and international art worlds, and has extensive and diverse professional experience in curating, exhibition production, catalogue editing, and writing. Throughout her career, she has built strong relationships and collaborations with numerous artists, senior directors and curators from leading museums and galleries, as well as academic figures.
