
Dr. Irit Carmon Popper
Independent art curator, researcher, consultant, and associate lecturer in visual culture. Carmon Popper holds a BA in Philosophy and Art History, and an MA in Art History from The Hebrew University, Jerusalem, as well as Curatorship and Museology Studies from Tel Aviv University. She earned her PhD from the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning, Technion IIT, Haifa and a Post Doctorate from the Frankel Institute for Advanced Judaic Studies, at University of Michigan (LSA), Ann Arbor. Her research emphasizes the link between contemporary site specific and socially engaged art with architectural preservation and cultural heritage. Her dissertation “Art as Preservation” was recognized with international awards, including an honorable mention of the Ben Halpern Award for Best Dissertation in Israel Studies.
