Michal Karniely
Born in Israel in 1994, grew up in Tel Aviv, lives and works in Jerusalem.
Creates video and music which she combines into video works of different genres.
Graduated with honors from the Department of Screen Arts with a specialization in Video, Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem (2020).
Winner of an Art award on behalf of the Ghetto Fighters’ House (2021).
Michal Karniely’s works deal primarily with her relation to her family and to her family history during the Holocaust. Through her exploration of personal associations and inner realms, she creates visual worlds full of imagination and fantasy. The main impulse for her work lies in her deep connection to her grandmother and grandfather, both Holocaust survivors.
