Ilanit Konopny

Curator, head of the MA program in Policy and Theory of the Arts, Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. Curator of the Department of Photography’s graduate exhibition and co-curator, with Department Head David Adika, of the Department of Photography’s gallery.

Holds an MA in Policy and Theory of the Arts from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and a BA in Sociology and Anthropology from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In addition, earned a BA cum laude in Photography at Hadassah Academic College, Jerusalem. A recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship (2004-2005) and a Dean’s Award (2002).

Recipient of the Galia Yahav writers’ grant (2018). Her writing has been published in artists’ books and art magazines. Curated the Mifal Hapayis Arts Incubator program in collaboration with the Indie Photography Group gallery (2021-2022). Curated solo and group exhibitions by local and international artists at galleries and museums in Israel, including the Edmond de Rothschild Center, Ticho House Museum — Israel Museum, Jerusalem, Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, Indie Photography Group gallery, Artists’ Studios in Jerusalem (Talpiot and Teddy), and more. Founded the Holocaust Memorial Day program at the Jerusalem Cinematheque and curated it for over a decade, in addition to other programs combining film, video art and panel discussions with women artists.
