Michal Karniely
A multidisciplinary artist and musician living and working in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
Graduated with honors from the Department of Screen-Based Arts, specializing in video, Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem (2020); graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music, Jazz performance, flute (2024).
Her work explores inner worlds, identity, a connection to roots, and a constant search for answers from external realms. This is expressed through the creation of imaginary, playful, and poetic worlds that combine digital media, photography, animation, original sound, and video art. She often appears in her own works, blending performance, music, and a variety of visual elements.
She has exhibited and participated in various festivals in Israel and abroad, including the Jerusalem Arts Festival, the Jerusalem Jazz Festival, and the QUEENTA Festival. Her video works have been shown internationally, including at ZAZ10 Gallery in New York, the VIDEOFORMES Festival in France, and more.
