Michelle Boginski

Born 1997, Acre, living in Haifa

Photography, archival materials, video and installation art

Graduated with honors from the WIZO Haifa Academy of Design and Education’s Department of Photography, Media & Non Fiction Film (2021). Winner of the Micha Kirshner prize at the NB Haifa School of Design (2020). Participated in the PHOTO IS:RAEL international photography festival in Tel Aviv-Yafo in 2021. Participated in the Jerusalem Women’s Film Festival, where her film was nominated for the best student film award (2022). Participated in the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque, where her film was nominated in the LookOut: The Experimental Film & Video Program competition (2022). Alumni of the Edmond de Rothschild Center’s Professional Development Program in the field of Art (2022).
Her works are a space for dialogue between identities, generations, and genders. She studies social norms and conventions shaped or abandoned over time in Israeli society, clings to her memories from the time of her immigration to Israel from the former Soviet Union in the 1990s, using personal and collective archival materials.
