Uri Weinstein
A plastic artist whose work combines sculpture, installation, and sound. Born 1992; lives and works in Tel Aviv.
BFA and MFA cum laude in Fine Arts, Bezalel Academy of Art and Design (2019, 2023). Participated in the student exchange program at the École Nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSB-A), Paris (2018).
Recipient of the Michael & Pauline Lockman Scholarship (2023); a Visual Arts Grant from the Yehoshua Rabinovich Foundation for the Arts, Tel Aviv (2020); the Sharett Scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation (AICF); and the Gyula Zilzer Prize from the American Friends of Bezalel (2019). Participant of the Matanel Fellows at Alma Program, Alma House of Hebrew Culture, Tel Aviv.
Participated in solo and group exhibitions across the country, including at the Uri and Rami Nehoshtan Museum, Kibbutz Ashdot Ya’akov; Beit Ha’ir Museum, Tel Aviv; “Loving Art, Making Art” Festival, Tel Aviv; Fresh Paint annual art fair, Tel Aviv; Alfred Cooperative Institute for Art & Culture; Binyamin Gallery, Tel Aviv; Halal Bastudio gallery, Tel Aviv; Hansen House, Jerusalem; Talpiot Artists’ Workshops, Jerusalem; the New Gallery Artists’ Studios Teddy, Jerusalem; Bezalel’s Art Department Gallery, Jerusalem; and others.
His works range from audio installations, through works incorporating ready-mades and papier-mâché to works that play on word meanings in language and culture. His works are featured in private collections in Israel and in the Phoenix Group’s collection of Israeli art.
